Is there a way to open a CLOSED WIP JOB ?

Dear Gurus,

I need some help to open the WIP colsed JOBS. There are few JOBS we were complted and closed out the JOBS.  However, a quality issue occurred with them.  We are trying to back the JOB status from CLOSED to Release, so that we can  return the components. 

We tried to change the JOB status from Closed to Relased but sytem is giving error as below.

APP- WIP- 25189. 1 of 1  records failed.
Work In process does not allow the status changes you tried for those records.

Help and suggestion required.
