Sourcing Rule change from Single source to multiple source, Historic allocation, Planned orders
Hi All,
we have a situation where a particular or set of products are currently sourced from one supplier. This is configured in sourcing rule with priority 1 and allocation percent as 100% (obvious as we have only one supply source).
Now we have a requirement to change the sourcing to multiple suppliers. we will change the sourcing rule to configure it to buy from both suppliers and with same rank and allocation percent 50% each.
Now when ASCP plan is run, how would the planning engine makes decision on generating requisitions? If it considers the earlier history, being 100% supplier, new supplier will not have anything created for him. Does it start generating planned orders for new supplier that is added? How does it start doing the allocation by offsetting earlier 100% allocation to single supplier.
