Upgrading Upstream Weblink 8.04 to EPMS 11.1.2.2

I am looking for some advice on the following: 

Currently we are running Upstream Weblink (UW) 8.04. It has served our purposes well, but it will not run on the newer server software. An upgrade is inevitable.

We believe that the current equivalent software for UW is Oracle Enterprise Performance Management System (EPMS) 11.1.2.2 and have commenced reading the installation documentation. This is located here:

The installation documentation, located here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epm_install_1112200.pdf discusses, in a section called ‘Supported Upgrade Paths’ (page 124), upgrading from versions 9.33 to 11.1.2.
