IE Illness Benefit
This question is regarding the Illness Benefit for Ireland.
In Ireland we do not pay employees when they are off sick and when we receive the illness benefit certificate showing the amount paid by the IE social dept we add this figure to the employees taxable earnings purely for taxation purposes, the employee does not receive any extra payments.
My question is that on the Irish P35 that we create every month and send to the irish revenue at the end of the Irish tax year there is a box marked illness Benefit and I am asking whether the taxable Illness Benefit amount that we are adding to our employees taxable pay should also
