How does Store Item relation gets removed

Hello,
I understand, that when an Item-Loc is deleted in RMS, the corresponding SIM record in AS_ITM_RTL gets updatded with 'D'. But when will this record be removed physically from SIM, when  PurgeItem batch removes the complete set of item-data based on 'D' status in AS_ITM
