Does nscd honor DNS time to live?
OS DNS caching will only be used and all application caching will be disabled. Trying to verify that Solaris nscd hosts cache is respecting the time to live (TTL) on the DNS record has proven inclusuive. There appear to be some interaction/dependency between the nscd hosts settings of positive ttl, negative ttl and keep hot count that is not documented.
Can anyone provide information on setting the nscd hosts parameters to ensure that nscd will honor the DNS ttl?
Thanks,
Louis
