What will be the impact if converting existing inventory org as eAM eanbled?

I need your help guru's in understanding the below scenario.

We are having inventory orgs for stores and engineering activities with india localization setup. We are planning to implement EAM and have to decide whether we should create new inventory eAM enabled org OR convert existing inventory org as eAM enabled. By doing this what will be the impact on -  

a) What will be the impact on existing setup of india-localization?

b) What will be the impact on existing stores functionalities becasue of the engineers who will also be using the same org. segregation of stores and engineering activities?
