Reimaging to 2.7 on V1

Hello Everyone!Currently I have ODA V1 with 2.4 Bare Metal version. I want to update it to 2.7. My question is can I simply re-image with 2.7 ISO image and apply 2.7 End User Bundle? I was sure I can do this until I've seen this information in Deployment Section (3) of Patch 12978712 Readme: "This section is for new deployments on a brand new machine that comes with 2.7.0.0.0 ISO.  This is only available on ODA X3-2.  For any version earlier than 2.7.0.0.0, please refer to patch 16760967 README.html.
So, can I or maybe need I re-image to 2.5, install End User BP 2.5 and apply 2.7 Patch Bundle?
