trying to understand what is stored in the UCM datafeeds directory in UCM when SESCrawlerExport com

We recently started using SES 11.1.1.20 with UCM 10g.  The datafeeds directory is growing rapidly and we are running out of space in the filestore.  We will move it to a filestore with more space if we have to, but I'm trying to understand (1) is this normal behavior (2) what is stored in the 10g UCM datafeeds directory  (3) when the  datafeeds directory is updated and (4) what is the best way to maintain the directory.

 

We have thousands of directories named something like:

./content2013-08-30-10-22-07-1246584354/df2013-08-30-10-22-07-1246584354_content1.pdf

./content2013-10-15-14-56-29-1802133625
