How to drill back from HFM to JDE

I don't know whether i am posting to the correct community.

We are looking into to have Adapter installed for our HFM users to drill back to JDE system for viewing data. and we are trying to understand how this works. are there any configuration settings in JDE that need to e established that allow JDE access from HFM? how does JDE know to allow access into itself from HFM?

the jde is JDE 9.1 and HFM will be 11.1.2.3 that we will upgrade to .
