add more segment to Master Item (Oracle Inventory)

Dear All,
I am using Oracle Inventory about 01 year with the implementation of Master Item with one segment.
Now I would like to change Master Item to using with multiple segment.
I would like to seek your support for the below issue:
1. is it possible ?
2. what happen to the old data?
3. How to re-implement this change ?
