Split an inventory item in to two separate item

 Can we split an inventory item in to two separate items with different costs?Please refer to the scenario
Lets assume that there's a pc which has 8 GB Ram(item A). But the customer needs a machine(item A) with 16 GB ram..So they take another(item machine which has a 16 GB RAM. take both of them to separate a location,
assemble the 16 GB ram to item A.. Then they sell it to the customer to a different price.. And item B is taken back to inventory as a separate item for another different cost..Or else they import new 16 GB ram and fix
