Items appearing on the Subledger Period Close Execption Report and Unposted Items Report as Invalid

Transaction were created for a customer and the consolidation process completed correctly. The accounting was created correctly. During our month end process I noticed that on the Unposted Items Report there were unposted items in both Category: Credit Memos and Trade Receipts. At the end of each category there is the following message: "The revenue distributions for this transaction have not been generated by the Revenue Recognition program" I have not seen this issue before and not verse on the Revenue Recognition program.

The same transactions appear on the Subledger Period Close Exception Report as Invalid.

We will be tring to recreate this issue in a test instance. Does any have any suggestions as to the cause or resolution to this issue?
