Need the clarification on "en_US locale" on AIX 7.1

Hi,
We are planning to install the Application release 9.0 on AIX 7.1
I checked LANG as prerequisite check so with root user it is showing "en_US" not the "en_US.UTF-8".

so is it ok or both en_US and en_US.UTF-8 are different ?

Which Language package  i need to install before starting platform pack ?
