You may say I'm a dreamer, but I may be not the only one ;-)
With the advent of the SPARC M6-32 I pound why not provide better support for HPC, entering the competition with a bunch (say 244) of typical 2-socket Intel Xeon 5690 300GB RAID-1 96GB RAM 10/40Gb Infiniband inter-connected + external simple-file storage?
Why not motivate HPC ISVs to better support it as well?
As a preliminary side-by-side comparison:

Conventional Wisdom x New Wisdom

RACKS 5 1 --> 5x smaller
HOSTS 244 1 --> 244x simpler
"CPU"s 2920 3072
RAM (TB) 7.7 32 --> 4x more (a single process can overcome 8 TB)
INTERCONNECT (Gbps) 40 128 (1 TB/s) --> 3x more
RAM BANDWIDTH (GB/s) 32 1433 (1.4 TB/s) --> 44x more
