Can we split the inventory item

Can we split an inventory item in to two different items with two different costs 

Lets assume that there's a pc which has 8 GB Ram(item A). But the customer needs a machine(item A) with 16 GB ram..So they take another(item machine which has a 16 GB RAM. take both of them to separate a location,
assemble the 16 GB ram to item A.. Then they sell it to the customer to a different price.. And item B is taken back to inventory as a separate item for another different cost..Or else they import new 16 GB ram and fix
