After resolving errors in ADZDDBCC.sql compliance Script, issues still appear in script output

I have a custom application that I am trying to get in compliance with R12.2 online patching.  I am following the developer's guide and supplemental Oracle Support notes and have run into an issue I can't find the answer to.  I have package objects in my custom application schema that reference newly editioned tables.  They reference the tables directly and as expected, show up in section 23 of the script output with the following description:

DOC>  **********************************************************************
DOC>  SECTION-23
DOC>  **********************************************************************
DOC>  "Query/DML statements must access Tables via the Table Synonym or Editioning View"
DOC>
DOC>   - P2: These objects may operate incorrectly after the referenced table
