R12.1.3 - ASCP 2 tier architechture questions.

All,
We are implementing ASCP in 2 tier architecture.     The process I am following is as follows

1)  Create R12.1.3 EBS instance.  Apply 12.1.3.8 VCP patch.      We have database in 1 tier and applications in another tier.
2) Take backup of above EBS instance.
3) Clone ASCP instance from above backup in different machines.
4) create db links between EBS and ASCP and vice versa.


Is this the right approach?
