Parent region auto-resizing

I have tabular forms embedded within a static HTML form embedded within a DML form. I would like to resize the DML form HTML region and static HTML form region upon a button press within the tabular forms. In one case, the button invokes a page change (but the region is not resized). In the other case, the button refreshes the tabular form (but again, the region is not resized, as desired). I have the following javascript functions associated with the DML and static HTML forms but am unable to find a way to execute them outside of a page
