pros and cons of combining 2 values in one segment

Hi,

We are on R12 (12.1.1) and in the process of setting up COA. We are deliberating between having 2 segments (Geography and location) separate segments or having a single segment where we can capture and store in single segment.

Any inputs on the pros and cons from the Gurus would be appreciated.

Please let me know if any more info is required.
