Position Hierarchy for Approval

Hi,
I would just like to ask if anybody here experienced where - in HR, Job is used instead of Position Hierarchy.

However, for PO Approval, we wish to use Position Hierarchy. Is it still possible without having to change the structure of HR (which uses Job)?
