Hardware Upgrade and Performances

Hi ,

We achieved an upgrade of the database server towards IBM PowerVM (Power 7) Virtualization.
OS: AIX 6.1
Oracle database: 11.2.0.3
New configuration:
Standard Processor: PowerPC_POWER7
Processor Implementation Mode: POWER 7
Processor Version: PV_7_Compat
Number Of Processors: 5

We noted that the value of parameter CPU_COUNT did from 10 to 20 ! Why ?

What is the relationship between Number Of Processors (=5) and cpu_count parameter (=20).

How to avoid any performance degradation after this upgrade ?


Which is the impact of this upgrade  on the mechanism of  Oracle parallelization (PQO)?
