How to fix "stale NFS file handle" on OVS 3.2.4 server ??

We have an NFS repository mounted from a Solaris server that needed the zpool containing the nfs export rebuilt. The zpool is back and functioning with the same nfs exports in place. I'm not able to refresh the repository and get rid of the messages about "stale nfs file handle" from the OVS servers.
Is there any trick to remount this repository ??  I'm hesitant to attempt to umount/mount from the OVS shell;  afraid that ovm-mgr will freak out ...
