RMAN Monitoring

Hi All
We are currently implementing RMAN on all our environment using Data Protector and so would like to know common Best practices on RMAN backup & recovery and monitoring tools & scripts.
We are configuring both Full and incremental level backup, however not sure how to monitor and find the increment level 0 & 1 backup details in recovery catalog database.
So, Appreciate if anybody can help to provide monitoring scripts/tools along with best practices on configuring RMAN would be great help
