Ship Set is not getting defaulted automatically for Split Lines

 The profile OM: Assign New Set For Each Line is set to the Site Level as 'Yes'.When i create a new sales line/order, it defaults, But when i split the line, the ship set field is empty for the newly split lines.

I understand that as per the below note it seems to be a standard functionality!!!!

But is there any work around to default automatically? By any means including personalization. It would really be helpful. Thanks.
