Extended Function Support in RTF Templates

I am trying to do a simple subtraction in a RTF report, I add the following formula to the report "<?xdofx:2-3?>" and the report does not work. I remove the formula and the report works. This function is from "Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher User's Guide
Release 10.1.3.2" yet it does not work in Unifier when I try to run the report. Has anyone tried subtracting using a formula or do I have to create a DV for this?  Plus when I do the preview in the test data the formuls works.
