Trying to Sto[ DB Tier for APPS R 12.1.3

Hello,

I am trying to stop the DB at my  DB tier of APPS R 12.1.3, OS is Linux  and DB Version is 11.1 , when I execute the command it displays "Connecting" for about 2-30 minutes and after that it shows the below error,  Any idea what could be causing this problem.

 [oraprod@erptest PCLONE_erptest]$ ./addbctl.sh stop

You are running addbctl.sh version 120.1
