Updating internal disk firmware on OPL servers - a small tutorial
Sometimes when a SR is opened for disk-related or general issues and an explorer was submitted an Oracle engineer will recommend the customer to update the disk firmware due to issues that were discovered and fixed in a newer firmware release for that particular hard disk drive.
However, more often than not the customer might be reluctant to install the disk firmware as he might expect encountering trouble while performing the procedure.
This small guide illustrates the process of updating the disk firmware.
