Compatibiltity of Making Additional SAN available to Oracle database

We have space limitations -- The estimated free space on the current SAN ( EMC Vnxe) used by Oracle  (non ASM) . We have an older SAN EMC NS20 that has capacity, but has a slower Network Interface (1 GB) than the current SAN (10 GB), I am attempting to take a logical back up of the Oracle DB using datapump, but there isn't enough free space on the SAN that is currently used by the database.   Does Oracle support using datapump to have the Data_Pump_DIr on a SAN that has a slower network interface (1 GB) than the SAN?. If so, what documentation is there for setting up the spare SAN for Oracle to use?   We are using Oracle 10gR2  10.2.0.3.0 on HP-UX B.11.23. U ia 64
