multiple oracle_home single database

Hello Folks,
os: linux 64 
ver: Oracle 11.2.0.3 Database

Can we run a single database using multiple oracle_home alternatively ?

I mean to say a single host having 2 oracle_home (different directories: dbhome_1 & dbhome_2) installed thru same os user.
create a database maybe using dbhome_1. shut the database.
Now can the same db be run using dbhome_2 oracle_home ?
