Organizations - Grouping

Hi All,
I have a requirement to group organizations as EAST, WEST etc based on their locations.

I cannot use Regions and Zones as they point to Customer Locations. Am I right?

Only solution left to me is to create some DFFs at Org Definitions and assign a region. Any other pointers?
