Not able to start ASM instance

I am not able to start 11.2.0.3 ASM instance (stand alone) after a host name change of the server. SQL> startup
ORA-01078: failure in processing system parameters
ORA-29701: unable to connect to Cluster Synchronization Service

$ srvctl  start asm
PRCR-1070 : Failed to check if resource ora.asm is registered
Cannot communicate with crsd

I came across MOS doc ASM configuration on Solaris 10 Zone(Doc ID 1477969.1).

The solution suggest that i should run following commands:
roothas.pl -deconfig
roothas.pl

Can i safely run above commands? Is it a good idea to uninstall 11.2.0.3 Grid Infra and reinstall it again? Please advise.
