rwconverter.sh fails; missing librw.so in R12 environment on Solaris Sparc (64)

specific error:  ld.so.1: rwconverter: fatal: librw.so: open failed: No such file or directory

Trying to generate our custom reports using rwconverter.sh and the librw.so does not exist ANYWHERE on the R12 servers.  I have followed all other potentally applicable Oracle notes and check the E-Business community site but nothing is fix forour environment:
