Oracle Golden Gate

Hi Siebel Experts,

I am trying to see if it is feasible to use Oracle Golden Gate to replace JMS queued based integrations. Most of our JMS queue based integrations are from ODS and SQL queries. Middleware queries legacy systems db and convert to Siebel message  and post it to queue. Siebel listener receives queue in workflow and do post processing/validaitons and upsert in Siebel.

following are my questions:

1. Does Golden Gate need to be deployed in both source (Siebel) and target (legacy systems).?

2. Does golden gate has any interface or programming like escript to validate/transform data before sending to Siebel.?
