Outside Operations Parts List Transfer

We are running outside operations. We process work orders that generate PO’s.  We then send the parts to the outside vendor.  Since we are still responsible for these components we do an inventory transfer (in the system) to a “OutsideOp” location so that we know what we have sent to the vendor and to keep track of our inventory.  Is there an more automated way to transfer these components to the “OutsideOp” location?  Maybe through Work Order Processing?  Thanks
