WMS task assignment

Hi SMEs
In  11i WMS, Is it possible automated task assignment based on destination work center, destinaltion sub inv/ locator. there 20 + such kind of grouping is there.is it correct to create that many resources? All are using WCB to assign tasks? It is taking long time to assign task and prioritize etc. Is there any shortcut or workaround for assigning tasks
