Best practise related to frequency of RAC cluster / Server should be shutdown and restarted .

Hello,


Could you please  answer the following questions ?

1) Is it good to  shutdown and restart RAC cluster and Servers with {Linux x86_64 bit os} every week during maintenance window.
  What would be the effect of shutdown and restart on Oralce databases.
2) What is the best practise related to  frequency a RAC cluster / Server  should be shutdown  and restarted . 
And  also if there is a reason of following the best practise.
3) What are the positives and negatives of not shutting and restarting the server for long time.
