How to handle archiving with databases that have large daily loads to them

We are installing RAC for the first time.  The databses (18) range in size from less than 10gb to over 700gb.   Some of these databases get their data through large load processes one or more times per day.  Currently as standalone DBs they are not in archivelog mode.  In RAC how do we handle this type of DB under archivelog mode?  How do we size the archive area?
