How to undelete a change with affected items

Hi,

I know that the manuals and KB say that changes that contain affected items cannot be undeleted......

With that said, has anyone attempted and successfully undeleted a change by manipulating the record directly in the database? I see that the change table contains a delete_flag column.. I wonder if it is as easy as updating this column? I know all redlines are already lost, which is fine, our users just want the ECO back for historic purposes.
