HP Continuous Access for Failover Redundancy
Our Network/Hardware admin set up HP Continuous Access (CA) to achieve failover capabilities for the database (11g). Continuous Access copies data from disk to disk as it changes. If the production database hardware fails, they plan on starting the database on the failover site provided by CA. I would think the timing of copying the data would need to be exactly accurate to achieve this. If the redo log, datafile headers, or control files were out of synch, Oracle wouldn't start or worse could start with inconsistent data. I'm not the DBA; I manage the database application layer but am
