Control file Autobackup is being deleted despite there being no space pressures

I have the database controlfile set up to autobackup to the FRA, I then take a backup of the FRA.

I recently noticed that this autobackup is being deleted automatically, this is listed in the alert log such as; 

Deleted Oracle managed file /u06/flash_recovery_area/SID/autobackup/2013_11_21/o1_mf_s_832106074_98wvltqq_.bkp

There is plenty of space in the filesystem and the space reclaimed isn't significant.

How can I prevent this?
