Can I skip the customization in R12.2 online patching

Hi all,

From our actual situation, we have nearly 1000+ custom programs and related DB objects in 11i environment now. If we plan to upgrade to R12.2,  I would like to know can we skip this customization from standard online patching cycle? I know Oracle recommend us to catch up the new standard, but we need a long time to do it.

So, can we just skip our customization migrate to new standard in R12.2 first but still enable the online patching ?
