Graphic cards, a thing of the past?

Does Oracle still commercialize graphical cards?If so, adding them to a system do increase the number of FGUs? (or should I call them GPUs?)
If so, does Solaris automatically make use of them as long as a driver is installed?
Is there something similar to GPU programming?
