Load-Copy-Merge MDS - Explode Functionnality

Hello group,

I have this Item Assembly (Make Item) that I created, and I added 2 components in the BOM for this Item Assembly.

I entered a Forecast on this Item Assembly. I was wondering, who could explain to me the signification of the Explode functionality in the Load-Copy-Merge MDS - Explode Parameters.

When I copied my Forecast to my MDS, I selected Explode to NO.

See screen shot.

Because when I ran the MRP, I can well see that the MRP workbench suggests to create 2 Purchase Requisitions for these 2 Components, which is what I was expecting.

So in which situation I need to select Explode to YES.
