SCHEDULE_ARRIVAL_DATE Defaulting Rules

Hi All,
I am using defaulting rules to populate promise date and schedule ship date based on the request date.
when i create a new sales order line i am getting the values correctly defaulted, but when i change the request date to a future date the promise date is populated correctly but no the schedule arrival date.
Could you kindly let me know if you have encountered a similar issue.
