Contracts Business Processes

Hi

We are changing the business process and end dated the existing one and created new one. For all the depot repair and Service request we will be using the new business process .

We also have service contracts module.. I would like to understand how to add new business process to the existing contracts . Is there any API avialable or any other ways to do this.

Any impacts on the existing contracts if we end date the old one and add new business process
