Flexfield Segment Value change

 Hi 
We need to urgently change the segment qualifier for Account Type for the Account flexfield Segment (Natural Account Segment) value, currently it is classified as Expense but it should be an Asset (Goodwill Amortisation). 

The real challenge is that we need to revise our retained earnings for the last financial year to remove the Expenditure amount and transfer it to balance sheet. How can we achieve this as just changing the Segment qualifier does not automatically.

I will like some help and advise on this pls
