Grid Infrastructure: Install 11.2.0.4 GI binaries before Upgrade

Hi Colleagues,

 

I have the following question and/or challenge.

We have a eight node cluster, running with Grid Infrastructure 11.2.0.3.7 and several different Database home and databases (11.2.0.3.4 and 11.2.0.3.7).

 

Now we will upgrade this cluster to 11.2.0.4, but would like to do it step by step.

First GI and after that the DBMS, but . . .

 

Question is the upgrade of the Grid Infrastructure.

I would like to do this step by step, instead of install and upgrade in one flow.

Is it possible to or has some experience with:

• First: Install the GI 11.2.0.4 (out-of-place of course).

• Secondly: Do the upgrade to GI 11.2.0.4 from 11.2.0.3.7, node by node
