Switch Over Factors to Consider..

Hi All, we are in final stage to implement Data Guard for one of our most critical Database. but before going to implement, managment wants to know that how much time it ll take to make Standby Database in case of you wan to switch over to standby. becuse currenly we are using SAN to SAN replication and managment wan to stop SAN to SAN replication and start using Data Guard. Currently on Production Server we have three database instances and we planned to configure data guard for all of three. now my main concern is as below

how long it will take if we switch over from primary to DR . what may be factors that can effect / improve switch over .
