DOMA Repeal Tax Refund

Due to the repeal of DOMA we now need to reverse out the after tax deduction and enter a pre-tax deduction.  However, this creates negative taxable wages, which of course vertex/JDE does not handle properly.  This happens even when processing with regular pay as the amount of after tax to be reversed is so large.  We tried entering the transactions as an Interim Adjustment, but this will not allow a check to be produced.  It only allows manuals.  We do not have check stock so we cannot write up a manual check.  Has anyone else resolved this issue?  We are
